A short story
Scotch and Gingerale - A. Nguyen
After a heartfelt conversation with a man whom she felt might be someone very important to her someday, Emily looked outside the large windowpane of a small hip bar where she and Brian had exchanged their last words of affection for each other. He left, not too long ago, for the airport to catch a flight to Seattle where he would permanently reside in. Now,...
a road less taken (free-writing)
When i majored in hospitality, i didn’t do it because i wanted to, i did it because i thought i needed to fulfill a sense of responsibility, and because it was practical and thought the major should be easy. ( but that’s a huge problem, and misconception that most people have with this major because, well, hospitality, in itself, is a complex system at work too, the industry relies...

my version of "last thoughts..."
What am i doing, where am i going, twisting and turning like im burning inside. wonderin’ why time passes me by. so many faces and places to see, but im standing still on this mountain peak. overlooking the world with a single glance, there’s more to it than a silly dance, a silly talk with pointless words. seeking for more than mundane verbs. dreaming of substance not from a suit, a...
writing
Pros of writing:
1. I love it. It’s the greatest feeling ever.
obstacles:
1. inexperience & and lack of confidence.
2. finding the character’s voice: I recently found the protagonist’s voice in this fiction i’m writing. Once you find that out, you start to know her personality, and conjure up ideas of how she would handle situations in the plot. After all,...

i want..
i want to date a lover,
i want unending talks,
i want subtle touches that i can’t get enough.
i want incessant kisses,
i want lightheartedness,
i want your full compassion,
i want it just like this.
i want the way you look,
i want the way you walk,
i want them all with me,
on a day that we would talk.
i want, i want, i want.
Mostly, I just want to wake up.
it is the...
It is the age of consumption,
the unyielding of wants that defines the needs.
When manifesting forces shape ideas,
insinuating adequacy through covert deception.
Possibly, it is a time of despair.
When dearth of optimism demoralizes the mortal,
and hopelessness becomes unavoidable.
It is the incessant changes,
demolishing any means of simplicity,
and expectations are centered in...

the poet
There once was a hopeful poet who spent his life subconsciously seeking passion and eternal love. His writings reflected in this fundamental belief that life was beautiful as long as there was this deep, meaningful, compassionate love; a love symbolic of a constant fuel that never failed to keep the fire from ever being extinguished. He was constantly consumed with finding this true love; because...

by me.
Today we escape he gazes upon the openness with eyes of devoid
into the beacon’s gate that cuts the city light,
like that of a delicate kite amidst turbulent winds,
tugged to harbor but ever so hard on resistance.
he wants to escape this relentless gilded age,
by a whispering voice to lull him away.
his rugged look does not deceive me from lack of fragility.
for such silence...

One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest
All I know is this: nobody’s very big in the first place, and it looks to me like everybody spends their whole life tearing everybody else down.
Because he knows you have to laugh at the things that hurt you just to keep yourself in balance, just to keep the world from running you plump crazy.
Quote from Before Sunset
“The story..the idea is…there’s this guy and he’s totally depressed. His great dream was to be a lover, an adventurer; riding a motorcycle through South America…and instead he’s sitting at a marble table eating lobster, and he’s got a good job and a beautiful wife; everything that he needs…but it doesnt matter, because what he wants is to fight for...

way too cool.
My fashion vocabulary is like that of physics, very limited, so I can’t explain in detail what makes this model look awesome. However, I can tell you one thing and that is, I love the color coordination of these outfits! She looks comfortable and extremely hip and urban!
NYC
I did not keep a daily blog of my two and a half weeks in New York with Ann and her friend, Sairah. In retrospect, it was one of the best summers I’ve had. Each day consisted of waking up to Ann’s obnoxious Mexican alarm, which did not bother me that much since i’m so used to it, but poor Sairah had no idea there was such an annoying sound, for awhile she ended being the only...
